The Homewood Chamber of Commerce and Homewood Rotary Club hosted a joint school supply drive on August 23rd. The event, “Business After Hours: School Supply Drive” was held at Little Professor Bookstore in Homewood, with the goal of collecting school supplies to be donated back to the students in the Homewood City Schools system.
Attendees of the event were encouraged to bring school supplies as a donation to the cause. An impressive display of school supply donations were received and will be directly donated to each of the schools within the Homewood City School district. Dozens of new books were purchased and donated to English Learner teacher, Alli Phelps’ El Book Nook Program which aims to “build back a culturally responsive, diverse, and high-interest classroom library where students have immediate access to books that interest them and help them grow and learn.” Learn more about El Book Nook Program here.
