The Homewood Chamber of Commerce and Homewood Beautification Committee are proud to announce the recipient of the 2021 Quarter 1 Homewood Business Beautification Award. Edgewood Station underwent an amazing transformation from an auto repair shop to a thriving neighborhood destination. Edgewood Station is a gathering place for so many pedestrians and residents of Edgewood and beyond. Shannon Waltchack is proud to own and manage this property, doing its best to enhance the property as part of this charming neighborhood.
The Business Beautification Award serves to recognize those business owners who have made an effort to clean, repair, improve and enhance the overall aesthetics of their property to maintain the beauty of their neighborhood and surroundings. It is presented to encourage community improvements, enhance our city’s visual image and economic vitality. The Beautification Awards, announced quarterly, exist to showcase local businesses that have gone above and beyond improving or maintaining the overall aesthetic of their facility. Companies selected are recognized with an iron plaque displayed at the business to reinforce their contribution to the beautification of the Homewood community.
The Beautification Committee, comprised of a group of residents, business owners, and community leaders, makes recommendations on issues that enhance Homewood’s visual image and help to welcome residents and visitors. Since forming in 2018, the beautification committee has worked with the City to pick new decorations for the Holidays, help guide groups volunteering to build welcome signs, and worked with landscape architects on planning Homewood’s arterial gateways.
Homewood Business Beautification Award Applications are now available for Quarter 2 of 2021 and can be found at www.homewoodchamber.org
