For Immediate Release
The City of Homewood is implementing a new award to encourage and highlight Homewood businesses who show pride in the appearance of their business property. The Business Beautification Award serves to recognize those business owners who have made an effort to clean, repair, improve and enhance the overall aesthetics of their property to maintain the beauty of their neighborhood and surroundings. It is presented to encourage community improvements, enhance our city’s visual image and economic vitality. The Beautification Awards, announced quarterly, exist to showcase local businesses that have gone above and beyond improving or maintaining the overall aesthetic of their facility. Companies selected will be recognized with a plaque displayed at the business to reinforce their contribution to the beautification of the Homewood community.
The Beautification Committee, comprised of a group of residents, business owners and community leaders, will help make recommendations on issues that enhance Homewood’s visual image and are welcoming to residents and visitors. Beautification Committee is taking applications for the City’s first Beautification Awards now through June 3rd. Since forming last year, the beautification committee has worked with the City to pick new decorations for the Holidays, help guide groups volunteering to build welcome signs, and worked with landscape architects on planning Homewood’s arterial gateways.
